Reported Changes - GA Policy [105]

When the EW receives information which will affect the grant amount, the change is to be made in the next future month for which a timely NOA can be issued. Do not issue a supplement for the month in which a change occurred.

ExampleExampleThe recipient moves May 15th and there is an increase in the housing costs. EW enters the new information in CalSAWS to change the grant effective June 1st. No supplement is issued for the month of May. If the change was reported in June, a supplement for June would be issued.

ExampleExampleThe July SAR 7 received on August 2nd reports that the client moved on July 29th. The August GA grant has already been issued. EW enters new information in CalSAWS to revise the budget. The budget indicates the recipient is eligible for a $10 supplement due to an increase in housing. Issue the $10 increase for the month of August.

If an overpayment occurred, the future month grant must be computed and an adjustment made.

Note: If the recipient did not meet the required reporting responsibilities, the overpayment is considered willful [Refer to Overpayment Overview].
